Fundraising Event Highlights

The following are highlights from our special events, held throughout the year to raise money for the hospital.

See the Event Calendar for a complete list of upcoming special events.

Cupcakes and Cocktails

Held in March, the inaugural Cupcakes and Cocktails event in Fayetteville was both a fundraiser and a birthday celebration. Hosted by Patrick and Meredith Woodruff, the event was held in memory of their son Miller Woodruff, who died last year after being diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Cupcakes and Cocktails was a celebration of his life and a fundraiser for ACH, as well as the SMA Foundation. The event included dinner and a silent auction, as well as a pledge drive. The funds raised through Cupcakes and Cocktails will support an endowed fund at ACH designated to neuro-muscular disorders.

Kiwanis Walk 4 Kids Event

In April, the Kiwanis-Division 19 group hosted its annual Walk 4 Kids Event, raising $60,000 for the hospital. The event, which was held at Har-Ber Meadows in Springdale, featured a two-mile fun walk for children and adults. This year, many schools in Northwest Arkansas joined the fun prior to the event, hosting “Hat Days,” during which kids donated money to ACH to wear a hat to school. All proceeds from the Walk 4 Kids will support the Kiwanis Emergency Department/Trauma Center fund at ACH.

Run for the Roses Party

In May, as the ponies raced at the Kentucky Derby, people gathered in Jonesboro for a Derby watch party in support of Arkansas Children's Hospital. The third annual Run for the Roses event, presented by IBERIABANK, raised $40,000 for the hospital toward the purchase of equipment for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The event included a live auction of “bragging rights” on each of the 20 horses participating in the Kentucky Derby, as well as a silent auction.
