How Children's Miracle Network Hospitals®
Funds are Used

Through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, you can make a difference in children's lives. Involve your community, organization or business in an effort that builds our future.

Money from CMN Hospitals projects has helped fund:

Angel One® Transport
The hospital's transport system includes three ambulances, two helicopters and an airplane available for our use. Angel One® brings more than 1,800 ill and injured children to ACH each year. Three CMN Hospitals sponsors have supported  Angel One® Transport through endowments--Walmart raised over $1 million, while Log A Load and Will Golf 4 Kids contributed $1.5 million each. These three sponsors continue to support other ACH programs.

Arkansas Children's Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI)
Researchers at ACHRI study such issues as cancer prevention, causes of failure to thrive disorders, allergies and asthma, birth defects and bone development. Lab space, funded by CMN Hospitals donations, helps ensure we continue to progress in our understanding of pediatric development and in prevention and treatment of pediatric illnesses.

Child Life and Education Department
The Child Life and Education Department addresses the emotional, social, educational and recreational needs of hospitalized children and adolescents. The Child Life program uses developmentally-appropriate activities to minimize stress and anxiety and to foster positive feelings about healthcare.

Dental Clinic
This hospital-based pediatric dental clinic provides comprehensive care for infants, children and young adolescents with significant medical and/or developmental problems. Learn more about the ACH Dental Clinic.

Log A Load Endowed Chair in Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery
This endowed chair provides for salary and discretionary program funding for a top physician in the field of pediatric cardiovascular surgery. Because of the Log A Load chair, ACH has strengthened recruiting power to entice the best physicians to our hospital.

Patient Care Fund
The Patient Care Fund at Arkansas Children's Hospital is overseen by a committee of physicians and administrators who designate funds to patient care areas of the hospital with greatest need. The committee may choose to fund a piece of equipment, service or other project within the hospital that advances the care of children. What better way to invest a gift than in the hands of those who care for children every day?

South Wing Expansion
This construction project, the largest in ACH's history, will add 258,000 square feet of much-needed space. Many CMN Hospitals  sponsors are focusing their fundraising efforts on the South Wing Project.

Walmart Endowed Chair in Neonatology
Walmart and Sam's Club associates began raising funds for the Walmart Endowed Chair in Neonatology in 2007 and completed the funding in 2008, when the associates reached their $2 million goal. Funds from the endowed chair will be used to focus on improving telemedicine for teaching and consultation, developing a neonatal network to coordinate care, and expanding neonatal fellowship and medical home programs.
